Is Joe's open on Discovery day holiday??
Quick, cheap breakfast spot right next door to Thrifty car rental and a short ride from the airport. We didnt have much time, so we stopped on our way out of town, just before dropping off the rental car. It's in a small strip mall, so if you have picky eaters, they are a few restaurants and a Subway. As far as Joe's, it is typically plate style meals. I had the big breakfast which was three eggs, rice and two meats. I chose Portuguese sausage and spam with over easy eggs. The food was cooked great. The eggs weren't seasoned at all, so I had to add salt and pepper. My breakfast with a drink was $10. Not a bad deal. Friendly, quick service. Small seating area, maybe 14 people.
MoreJoe’s is probably best known as a lunch spot for everybody who works in the area near the airport, but my wife and I came by in the evening at 5pm for an early dinner. I got pork adobo with rice and my wife got the chicken sandwich. Both were great and the type of comfort food you would expect from a family diner in an off-the-beaten-path strip center. It’s an old-fashioned family business and they’re doing lots of good cooking! It’s an authentic, clean, well-maintained restaurant with (I think) mom and dad in the kitchen and their niece running the register. The portions are large and the food is excellent. Nice folks, great taste!
MoreThis was our go to breakfast spot while staying in the area for a 2 week trip. The food is great, staff is always friendly, and you can't beat the price. Recommend the macnut haupia pancakes!
MoreWent to breakfast at this little hole-in-the-wall down the street from the hotel that looks like it mainly caters to the locals. So good! Steaming hot off the grill cooked to order. Reasonable prices. If you don't see what you want on the menu, just ask & they will make it. The location is toward the back on the left of a strip center, and not obvious from the road. But immediately next door to the Thrifty rent-a-car.
MoreSuch a great local spot. Awesome home cooked food and cute spot. Make sure you look for the world maps on the ceiling and wall. So many visitors from all over the world!
MoreDelicious food!Garlic shrimp and haupia pancakes were amazing
Awesome spot for local Hawaii breakfast, special loco moco is a breakfast of champions. Staff are friendly and helpful. A little out of the way to get there from central Honolulu, but worth the effort.
MoreGood food, plenty of it and reasonably priced. Wife had spam and eggs. I had big breakfast with link and Portuguese sausage. We shared the Ube French Toast which tasted really good. Everything was great.
MoreGreat little spot right by the airport with delicious Loco Moco! My wife had the fried chicken with eggs and it was great! It is a small space, so there is limited seating. But they do offer free coffee!!
MoreA great place to start or end your trip at Honolulu. Several mins drive away from airport and most rental car companies. We tried their loco Moco and Joe Special Loco Moco, both were excellent. The ube French toast is very nice too. Great value for the price. Staff is super friendly too!A must try!
MoreThis place is incredible. Best Loco Moco I've ever had. Their Special Loco Moco is the gold standard. Don't try it unless your ready to higher your Moco standards. The gravy as nd hamburger patty are so flavorful. Just delicious.
MoreBest local hidden secret for breakfast and brunch. Very friendly staff as well. Must stop by if you are close to the airport!!
MoreA great hidden gem off of Nimitz Hwy. Food was awesome and service was friendly. I walked over to this place from South Seas Cycle for some lunch and waited for my bike to be done. This place had a great reviews and met all expectations.
MoreThis is the best honest food in all of Waikiki!! I was here last year and had to come back again this year. The staff or so friendly and the food is even better. Fried rice is a must. And chicken is amazing crispy for the price it’s the best place to go when you land after the airport or before you leave! Love this place!! I have been recommending to everyone! You guys are awesome, much love from Australia We got bento box and fried chicken and rice!
MoreGreat local Hawaiian spot. Small but gets crowded during rush hours. Moco Special is what I got and it was great, but others looked great too.
MoreGreat welcoming environment to everyone. Food was very good and in pretty decent sizes for the price so a good trade off. The service here was very good as well. Very helpful and cared for. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a good bite and comes with great service.
MoreMy go to spot for breakfast before work. Their omelets are the best
Great local spot. Goid size portions and breakfast all day. BBQ pork and pork omelet were good
MoreThe service was so familiar and great! The food is excellent and the place feels a lot like home cooking Hawaiian style! You have to stop here before a flight!
MoreMy second time here. Ordering the food was fast. I ordered pork adobo with eggs and it was good and filling especially for breakfast.
MoreStopped in to Joe's to get some food before a flight. THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!! Awesome food at reasonable prices and the folks there we very friendly as well. I mean home made corned beef hash in Hawaii? I never would have thought. Can't say enough good things about this place check it out when you're in town!!!
MoreGreat place where the locals eat, but also very convenient for returning a rental car. Biscuits and gravy with a side of Spam.
MoreMy husband and I LOVED this place. It was our first stop on the island. Great prices and close to the airport. I got a breakfast plate and my husband got the longanisa. We came around five and it was empty. The workers were so nice and great.
MoreSO DELICIOUS! This is our favorite breakfast hands down. We ordered the Joes Moco special and the Loco Moco. Highly recommend.
MoreWow...what can i say the country fried better than home .all food cooked in house and fastIf in honolulu must stop!!! Prices are low and worth every penny
MoreJoe’s is a small quaint place. Busy at noon but still seating available. Coffee only sold in the morning. Only three Fountain drink options Today, other half were out of order. Other juice options as well in cans or bottles. Chicken fried steak with hash browns was filling and tasty. tasted just as you’d expect. The veggie omelet had fresh veggies and cheese cooked perfectly. Service was very fast. Staff friendly and professional. This is the most reasonable, portioned, and best priced breakfast in Honolulu. Recommend to stop in and try. Will return.
MoreAmazing price for some really ono food!
Really good country fried steak and eggs. The pancakes were also very good.
It's a little crowded in here but the food is good, felt like a nice local spot.
First time trying this place. Ordered the breakfast 2 plate with spam, bacon, rice with eggs over easy. I would go back again.
MoreWhat a great hole in the wall! No frills just good food. Really small dining area so not good for groups otherwise you just have to be scattered like we did. No problem since it's a small place anyway. No restrooms. We had the pork gisantes (5*), hamburger steak (4*), teak and mushroom (3*), bacon cheeseburger (4*), chicken katsu aand teri beef (4*), Joe's moco special (5*) we loved the homemade corned beef hash and fried rice, and furikake chicken (4*) chicken had great flavor like mochiko chicken. They also had fresh papaya that my brother enjoyed. The employees are so sweet.Check out this place, don't mind the exterior either. The whole time there was a rotating line of people having takeout and eating there. Can't wait to return to pick up plates when I fly back home.
MoreDelicious local spot! The Ube French Toast and Haupia Macadamia Pancakes were amaizng!
MoreExcellent price for what you get. Service is fast and courteous. I ordered the regular loco moco lunch plate with over easy eggs Added the available hot sauces for an instant win. I plan on going back again and again.
MoreI was really impressed of the quality of service and food they have. Every day they have different lunch specials so you will never get bored eating there. Once you walk in you are introduced to a waiting line, typical for an eatery here in Hawaii. The staff are very friendly and really patient and they really tend to their customers. The prices are affordable for the amount of food they serve. You might feel like a stranger but they treat you like family. Poco Loco is one of my favorite dishes which is as local as it gets. Typical fountain drinks and free locally grown coffee so they usually have a pot of freshly brewed coffee. The place is easy to find and it is surrounded by different dinners and ssandwich places. You have to try it out to see for yourself. I highly recommend it.
MoreOh my goodness! That's all I can say.
Very friendly staff and good food! The atmosphere is very "mom and pop" shop which I love. Definitely recommend!
MoreGood food, friendly staff.
They serve breakfast all day and have great prices and food! It is a little hole in the wall but worth a visit! They were so nice to us and we enjoyed our meal.
MoreFantastic food, place is not for atmosphere (so 3 stars), just good food (food almost five stars)
MoreA place for good eats that was not super far from the airport. I came here because of the reviews and I was not disappointed.
MoreCame here for a quick bite before dropping of rental car and flying out and I was amazed!! Both meals we got were absolutely delicious!! Probably one of the best meals I had staying on this island and we ate at slot of places on Waikiki! Small little place with limited seating but definitely worth a visit!
MoreOno food & fast service at a reasonable price
Awesome food, awesome service, great price too! Tiny no frills hole in the wall that’s actually open at 4:30 AM Mon-Thur. Happy tummy. Thanks Joe 🤩
MoreUpdate, got the oso buca, holy wow it was great!Great salmon plate
Great place to eat after picking up rental car or before returning rental, since it's next to many car rental companies. Very generous portions without paying tourist prices. I didn't see any meals on the huge menu board over $9.99, 3/29/19. Delicious. My wife loved the cashier's recommendation of shark bites (tempura fried salmon belly). They serve breakfast all day. Small sit-down area, so not for large families to eat-in. Friendly staff. Would come back.
MoreMenu changes specials daily. Always good. The standard menu has everything you could want for breakfast or lunch, and it's always cooked with Ohana in mind.
MoreGreat food, fast. You don't go for atmosphere, but staff is all very cordial.
One of my new favorites I had the pleasure of eating takeout which was piping hot and very clean tasting. If your on the way to or Coming from HNL Airport, I would definitely give this place a gander . If you have any questions about the menu or certain items the waitresses and hostesses will steer you in the right direction. Havent been let down on an order from this place. What are you doing, still reading you should be putting on your seat belt and heading to Joes! Did I mention the massive portion. Winn winn...
MoreExcellent small little place super close to the HNL airport. We ordered Special Loco Moco, two sides of fried chicken and a side of fries. The fried chicken was so good, we got another. This is for 2 oMust visit/convenient if you’re around the airport area.
MoreOutstanding Hawaiian bbq and brunch.
